Our collection beyond our walls
Sharing art beyond borders
One of the fundamental missions of the Boon Foundation is to make its collections radiate beyond its walls. Through loans of works, we collaborate with museums, cultural institutions and event organisers to enrich exhibitions, support research projects or illustrate publications. When rights permit, high-quality reproductions can also be provided. These initiatives enhance the dissemination of artistic heritage while establishing new connections between the works and their audiences. The loan of works thus becomes a vehicle for transmission and cultural dialogue.
An exemplary loan policy
A rich and diverse collection
The Boon Foundation holds an eclectic collection including works from numerous artistic fields: comics, animation, illustration, painting, sculpture, design and furniture. Among these treasures, emblematic creations by artists such as Dave Gibbons, Jack Kirby, Marjane Satrapi and Philippe Druillet bear witness to a diversity of styles and expressions.
Major collaborations
The Boon Foundation has been working for years with prestigious partners, confirming its central role in making works of art available. Among our recent collaborations:
- Centre Pompidou (Paris): works by Marjane Satrapi and Dave Gibbons
- Angoulême Festival: regular participation, notably at the 52nd edition with The 6 Voyages of Philippe Druillet
- Grand Curtius (Liège): exhibition based on Frank Pé
- Cartoon Museum (Basel): plates by Dominique Goblet
These partnerships enrich exhibitions and events, attracting a wide audience and strengthening the dissemination of graphic and narrative arts.
Together, let’s broaden access to art
Thanks to a rigorous loan policy and dedicated support, the Boon Foundation offers museums and cultural institutions a unique opportunity to promote art in all its forms. By collaborating with us, you join an international network of cultural actors committed to the dissemination and preservation of artistic heritage.
Tailor-made support
The Boon Foundation provides its expertise to ensure a smooth and secure loan:
- Technical assistance: detailed condition reports and recommendations for conservation conditions.
- Logistical support: coordination of transport, installation and return stages.
- Personalised exchanges: close collaboration with borrowers to meet the specific needs of each project.
Thanks to this approach, we allow partner institutions to concentrate fully on their projects while guaranteeing respect for the works.
How to borrow a work?
If you wish to include one or more works from our collection in your project, here are the steps to follow:
- Present your project: describe your event, exhibition or research.
- Specify your needs: indicate the types of works you are looking for and the planned exhibition conditions.
- Submit a request: our team will analyse your proposal to ensure its compatibility with our requirements.
Once your request has been accepted, we will support you at every stage to ensure the success of the loan.
Strict standards at the service of the works
Our loans comply with rigorous international standards, particularly those defined by the Spectrum standard. Each step is designed to preserve the integrity of the works:
- Exhibition conditions: adaptation according to the sensitivity of the pieces (light intensity, duration of exposure).
- Specialised transport: packaging and monitoring ensured to minimise any risk.
- Conservation and handling: supervised processes for safe handling.
- Mandatory insurance guaranteeing full coverage for the entire duration of the loan.
Depending on the specifics of the works and the projects, the loan period varies from a few days to a year. A condition report is carried out before, at each stage, and after each loan to ensure meticulous follow-up.
