About us

About the Boon Foundation

Established in 2018, the Fondation Boon is a cultural mediator dedicated to the preservation, advocacy, and promotion of the graphic and narrative arts in all their forms: from comics to cinema, including illustration, photography, animation, and video games.

We celebrate these unique forms of expression and forge links between them to enrich cultural dialogue.

The Fondation Boon in a few words

A bridge between the graphic and narrative arts

We believe that graphic narrative art is a powerful communication vector, capable of conveying complex ideas, emotions, and stories with clarity and impact.

The Fondation Boon supports interactions between artists, researchers, and enthusiasts, facilitating dialogue and collaboration. We select our projects with care, prioritising those that challenge, inspire, and provoke deep reflection.

It is based on a rich and diverse private collection, recently supplemented by the archival holdings of a renowned artist, for which it now ensures the preservation and enhancement.

Notre mission

To tell, inspire, move: narrative art comes to life

Our mission is to foster dialogue through the graphic and narrative arts, by valuing the richness of perspectives. Each work tells a unique story that deserves to be heard, which is why we encourage everyone, novice or expert, to sharpen their critical eye.

Currently, the Foundation is primarily invested in the conservation and loan of works, the organisation and mediation of artistic workshops, followed in the long term by transmission and publication activities.

The Fondation Boon’s collection is not limited to comics. It brings together more than fifteen thousand works covering various disciplines, such as illustration, painting, sculpture, and even design. Among the masterpieces are original plates and illustrations by Frazetta, Milton Caniff, Moebius, Bilal, Tezuka, as well as sculptures created in collaboration with contemporary artists.

In partnership with renowned cultural institutions, such as the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the Cartoon Museum in Basel or the Mémorial de la Shoah, the Foundation makes its works available for exhibitions, research or events, thus reinforcing its active role in the promotion of the graphic and  narrative arts.
